Terrie Voigt

I incorporate a wide range of materials, such as fibers, dyes, paints, glass and metals, to make functional objects, wearable clothing and accessories, wall-pieces, bowls, and sculptures. I'm drawn to texture and vibrant colors that blend and harmonize. I strive to create work the eye wants to explore and the hand wants to touch. The process of creating each piece is a form of meditation that brings me joy, peace and satisfaction.
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Fine Arts and Education Major at Michigan State University.
I offer workshops in surface designing and freeform crochet.

Textile Art
My interest in fibers, yarns, dyes, paints and glass has developed into a passion for felting, knitting, freeform crocheting, weaving and surface designing to create wearable and multi-media art.

Glass Art
I melt and manipulate glass in kilns to create both functional and non-functional art. My work reflects organic shapes and forms. Some of my pieces exhibit strong contrast in color, while others are soft and subtle conveying a quieter emotion. A piece of my glass art may incorporate glass fusing, slumping, bead making, painting, sandblasting and occasional non-glass materials.
